Chew Kok Chang has published more than one hundred works, including poetry, novellas, short stories, essays andĀ childrenās books. Born in 1934 in Guangdong, he is also known by various pen names including Zhou Can, Qiu Ling, Yu Yin,Ā Lin Zhongyue, Zhou Zhixian and Zhou Aijia. His awards include the National Book Development Council of Singapore BookĀ Awards for Poetry and Childrenās and Youth Literature, the Singapore Chinese Literature Award and the Cultural Medallion.
Shelly BryantĀ is the translator of You Jin'sĀ In time, Out of Place, published by Epigram Books, and Sheng KeyiāsĀ Northern Girls, which was published by Penguin Books and longlisted for the Man Asian Literary Prize. She is also the author of four volumes of poetry and two travel guides on Suzhou and Shanghai.Ā Her translations of Sheng Keyiās novelĀ Death FugueĀ for Giramondo Press in Australia, and tennis player Li Naās memoirs forĀ Penguin Books, are forthcoming.
